
Artur Kaganovskiy was born in Moscow , Russia in 1986. At the age of four he started violin studies and at five entered the School for Talented Children at the Moscow Conservatory. Artur began appearing soon in recitals and also had several TV appearances. In 1992 he was introduced to the famed violinist Isaac Stern, who at that time was in concert tour in Moscow . In 1993 Artur immigrated with his family to the USA . In New York he continued his musical education at the Manhattan School of Music until 2004. At the age of eight he played for Mayor Giuliani. Each year Artur performed numerous recitals and won many awards and scholarships. For five years Artur was a concertmaster of four different orchestras, including Manhattan School Philharmonic Orchestra and Interschool Symphony Orchestra in New York . In 2003 he won the first prize in Manhattan School of Music Concerto Competition performing “Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso” by Saint-Saens with orchestra. In May 2004 he won first prize at Five Towns Young Artists Competition (NY, USA ). In Moscow, and later in New York Artur studied violin with reputable violin teachers. Currently Artur is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Music at The Juilliard School under coaching of Masao Kawasaki. Artur likes to play for audience. During last three years he made about 30 appearances. He performs not only as a soloist, but also as a chamber music and orchestra player in Avery Fisher Hall, Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Brooklyn Barge Music among others. Several times Artur participated in master classes with distinguished violinists Pinchas Zuckerman, Joseph Silverstein, and Zachar Bron. Recently he is a recipient of Fritz Kreisler Scholarship. |
